The perfect works Christmas event - for 2025 I’m pleased to introduce Time Crimes. A story driven, puzzle solving adventure in time. A ninety minute mission for teams of 12 to 24 participants. (This is a physical game, no virtual reality is used.)
This is where the end begins to begin before the beginning ends.
Clear? Excellent. Moving on.
VR ESCAPE NEEDS YOU!!
TEAM WANTED - MYSTERY TO SOLVE - THE WORLD TO SAVE
I need a team of at least twelve (up to a max of twenty four) expert puzzle solvers to investigate something remarkable! Its secrets need revealing.
It’s not clear why VR Escape has been tasked with this mission, or who by, but let me stress, this is NOT a new VR escape room marketing gimmick. This is very real.
Calling all puzzlers, logisticians, quizzers, creative thinkers, imagineers and all those who love to unravel mysteries. Your skills will be challenged here. Someone with an understanding of time and causality might be helpful. If you have mystery solving talents this team needs you on it!
Hopefully a strong team can get this mammoth task done in 90 minutes. Will you help?
‘Twas a Dark and Stormy Night…
That’s how these stories always start, isn’t it?
It wasn’t though. It was just an ordinary evening at VR Escape.
The last team of the day had left, the headsets were sanitised, the fire exit locked. Only the souvenir photos remained, but I’d promised to be home by ten so those could wait. After a full afternoon I was tired and wanting my dinner! I was shutting down the computers when it happened.
I felt the hairs on my arms prickle with static.
On my wrist the hands of my watch were spinning wildly.
The desk phones erupted together, each one shrill and insistent. I looked at their displays, the numbers flipping frantically through times that made no sense.
The office lights strobed. The Arena lights blazed brighter, buzzing harder with every pulse. The phones screamed louder. An electrical crackle filled the room and the air tasted of metal.
Then the bulbs burst in rapid fire and… void.
Darkness.
Silence.
I have to be honest… it was a close call for my underpants!
After unclenching and getting my breath back, my eyes began to adjust to the dim glow of the emergency exit signs. The office looked normal enough. But in the arena…
It hadn’t been there before. No one had brought it in. No door had opened. Yet suddenly… It was.
How? Why? Questions I struggled with. Why here? Why in the middle of an escape arena? A venue that gathers teams of mystery solvers week after week. A real life mystery presented in a place full of, well, experts at solving mysteries! Could that be coincidence? Could someone somehow have put it there intentionally?
And then it clicked. The real question isn’t where it came from. The question is when. Whoever put it there, whenever they are, they need this mystery solved. And they’ve chosen us to solve it.
What can we tell you about Time Crimes without spoilers?
Time Crimes is a complex escape room designed to be played in a large group of adults (12-24 players.) It is a BIG game with lots to do. The team will need to split into several groups to work on puzzles simultaneously, while needing to come together as a whole to complete the mission. It will likely take up to 90 minutes to complete the heavily story driven experience.
There is no use of virtual reality in Time Crimes. Just a little tech and beautiful, old school, hand made props, puzzles and padlocks.
