Escape Rooms in Wickford

Wickford is often overlooked as it’s surrounded by larger and well known towns and cities, yet it has a signficant history. There’s evidence suggesting tribal activity at Wickford thousands of years ago. Perhaps also overlooked given the bigger neighbours, there is a great escape room in Wickford.

For my birthday in 2023 we visited the lovely Keylock Games in Wickford, and played their Unfair Funfair escape room. Owner designed and operated there are some unusual puzzles in this escape room and a great mix of codes, keys and locks. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Keylock also had Clue Did It? which was a classic Whodunnit and their latest escape room Nobody Loves Robot which customers have recommended to me. I’m excited to see that in March 2026 they’re opening the doors to a new room - “The Ward.” I wonder what their twists on the “locked in an asylum” horror experience will be.

With the escape room scene growing so fast it’s not surprising that there are now many chains that franchise their games across the country. While some of those are great there can be a tendency to focus on style over substance. Glossy props first, puzzle quality second. The opposite is generally true of owner designed rooms. The focus is first and foremost on quality and unusual puzzles and the flow of the room. These rooms punch above their weight. Given the choice between franchised or independent I think the independent is always the better bet. Keylock escape rooms are no exception and are definitely worth a visit or three. We’ll be along to mend that Robot soon and I’ll amend this page when Nigel is happy again! (I’m not sure I’m brave enough to take on The Ward - horror is definitely not my idea of fun!)

I opened our Virtual Reality Escape Rooms near Wickford not solely because I’m a VR fan, but because I’m a big fan of escape rooms! I’m fortunate to have some of the best escape rooms near me. Thankfully I’ve got a couple of Wickford Escape Rooms still to play, but if you’d played all the local games or fancy something similar but different please come and give a Virtual Reality escape room a go. With several to choose from and at least one new one a year we’ll keep you busy! Take a look at our escape rooms here
